Movements between Squads:
To ensure that the flow of Athletes through the club's swimming programme is progressive and enables all swimmer to reach their full potential, gain lifeskills and be challenged on a daily basis to ensure the continued success of our swimming club.
Generally, movement between squads will take place twice per year:
1: Month of December:
Coaches will meet to discuss movements 3-4 weeks prior to any communication to swimmers/parents. Decisions on which swimmers will be ready to move will take place in November and swimmers/parents notified by the end week in December latest.
In some cases the move may involve a short transition period, the swimmer would remain in their current squad and attend a 1 -2 sessions per week with their intended new squad to allow for orientation/ adaptation to the change.
2: Month of May :
Coaches will meet to discuss movements 3-4 weeks prior to any communication to swimmers/parents. Decisions on which swimmers will be ready to move will take place in April and swimmers/parents notified by the first week in May.
In addition, to the movement calendar outlined above, for specific circumstances there will be a FastTrack option that will apply to all squads will be 100% at the Head Coaches discretion
Additional Points:
- If parents wish to speak to the Coaching Team then please make an appointment prior to the session and with at least 48 hours’ notice
- It is assumed that ALL swimmers within the club will complete at least 90% of their sessions and any changes to this may results in the swimmer putting themselves at risk of falling outside of their squad criteria.
- Any changes to session time should be discussed with the Lead Coach and signed off by the Head Coach, to enable better planning and a cohesive approach to the workloads
- All Movement/Criteria are Coaching decisions and will be at the discretion of the Head Coach.
